        It is a basic human right to express oneself. Democracy is a system of government where people's opinion is valued. While in authoritarian government people's suggestion and opinions are ignored. Discussion is the beauty of democracy. Whenever there is discussion, there will surely be some difference in opinion. Democracy leads to healthy and creative Minds by giving value to People's opinions while authoritarian system results in a suppressed society with crippled minds.

        Whenever there is some debate over the topic and difference of opinion emerges, then it is very likely that the best possible solution will shine out. Democracy gives full opportunity to the people to give their opinion through votes. Public representatives are selected through vote and everyone's vote is equally important means everyone's opinion has the same weightage. Thus, it is the duty of every democratic leader to listen to its people's voice.

        Democratic system sharpens the minds of people by giving them confidence to speak. People have a share in the government in the form of their representatives in the Parliament and assembly. People's voice is heard in law making and law modification. This system of expressing one's opinion encourages the thinking ability of people. They get the confidence of telling their opinion. So, a democratic system leads to creative and free minds.

    Unlike democracy an authoritarian system of government does not allow any difference of opinion. The leader is to be obeyed at all costs. An authoritarian leader is the one and final authority who feels satisfaction in pressing the People's voice. Such is a system retards creativity and produces slave minds. No system can flourish where the People's voice is suppressed and difference of opinion is not tolerated. Thus, an authoritarian leader who crushes difference of opinion cripples the minds of people which in truth slows down the whole system.

        In a nutshell, the democratic values that welcome people's opinions and tolerate differences in ideas promotes creativity and leads to a healthy society. Such a society is sure to achieve great heights.
